very hot weather is expected across Derbyshire

Dear Resident

Creswell SNT would like to remind residents that very hot weather is expected across Derbyshire.

Please take a few simple steps to keep yourself, your family and your neighbours safe:

💧 Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.

☀️ Try to avoid the strongest sun, particularly around the middle of the day.

🏠 Keep your home as cool as possible by closing curtains/blinds where the sun comes in.

👵 Check in on elderly, vulnerable or isolated neighbours — a quick knock, phone call or message could make a real difference.

🐕 Please take care with pets. Avoid walking dogs during the hottest part of the day and remember that pavements can become extremely hot and burn their paws. Early morning or later evening walks are safer. Never leave a dog in a parked vehicle, even for a short time.

🚗 If travelling, take water with you and be aware that the heat can affect both drivers and vehicles.

🌊 If you are heading to open water to cool down, remember that water can be dangerous. Use supervised/lifeguarded areas.

Most importantly, look out for each other. If you notice someone who may be struggling in the heat, please check that they are okay.
